I saw some ‘reproduction’ Pet Rocks a few weeks ago. Looks like a new generation of gullible.

What Lola failed to mention is that she used the money from selling her pet rock to buy a bunch of Beanie Babies.

I felt that way about the pet rock when it came out and for a very long time after. Just a couple of years back, I stumbled upon and read the booklet that came with them. I found it funny and charming, and then I understood the allure. Had I read it back when they were being sold, I’d have probably bought one as a gift for someone.

I had the “Super-Stud” Pet Rock. The handbook on their breeding habits was a HOOT!

I found a rock on the beach I named “Rocky”. That’s my idea of a “pet rock”.

I adopted a ‘wild’ pet rock and even painted eyes on it (gave it more personality) and took it to classes at college with me. My friends thought that was a good idea and got a good laugh out of it.
