It’s always good to write your ideas and thoughts down on paper. You can review, add, erase, or just ditch the whole thing! Writers block sometimes hinders your progress, but one time, in the middle of the night, I woke with a start, and it came to me…. in a flood of all floods, in a frenzy, I wrote it all down, the ideas were coming so fast I could hardly keep up….but, alas, I finished my journey….
Revision, redrafting, rearranging…all in the service of an ideal that wouldn’t exist in a mind not as creative. Buck up, my young cartoonist, you’ll get there yet. And then there’s tomorrow and next week to worry about.
I know, I know! This is what drives professional writers and/or cartoonists to drink: the editing process, necessary but debilitating. Hang in there, Young Lady!

…Art is subjective …
…now, that’s a novel idea…
…not that I will ever finish my novel…
…or novella…
…novelette…
…or short story…
…which reminds me…the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame won’t let Chubby Checker into the hall because they say his body of work isn’t Big enough…
…yet…
…I though it would be more about influence …
…like Nirvana…
…what? They have three or four albums…
…and they never had a number one single…
…Chubby influenced the dance craze as much if not more than Nirvana influenced grunge…
…why isn’t he in it?…
…oh, never mind…

This is very zen. Empty paper, empty mind. No more words on the page! No more eraser on the pencil!

It doesn’t have to be perfect. I did a crossword lately, where the word to be filled in was “starling”, and the clue was “songbird”.
Hah! That was a good one.

Einstein said he rarely solved a problem while trying. All his best ideas and solutions came out of nowhere while doing nothing or not thinking.
