Good thing Garfield is just watching this on the TV. With how much Garfield loves caffeine he would definitely drink Frankenstein’s Monster. Wouldn’t end well.
When I was a kid, we had the Polka Monster (Lawrence Welk & Myron Floren) on TV every week. My parents even started me on accordion lessons at the age of 5 (which I took until 13). I survived okay .. for the most part.
One day the Doctor wanted to do another experiment, so he told Igor to go out and find 2 freshly-killed bodies. Igor went searching & couldn’t find any bodies fresher than about a week. As he walked home wondering about his dilemma, a car came careening around the corning, dove off the road & crashed. The couple inside, Mr. & Mrs. Hill, were killed instantly. Igor was thrilled! He picked them up & took them back to the Doctor. The doctor said, “Splendid, Igor! Prepare for the experiment!” Now, it’s a little-known fact that the Doctor liked doing his experiments with mood lighting and soft music. Igor set the lights & turned on the music. As the music entered into the room, Mr. & Mrs. Hill slowly sat up, rubbed their eyes, & looked around. Igor cried, “Master! Master!……. ♫ The Hills are alive, with the sound of music… ♫”
if you look on you-tube there is a clip form the Lawrence Welk show of two of them, in a pastorial setting, in nice clothes singing ‘one toke over the line.’
clearly they had no idea what the song was about, probably the line “sweet jesus” made them think it was wholesome. the show has never been re-release and I would love to have been a fly on the wall when someone told lawrence what the song was about.

And a one-ah and a two-ah…….
Here’s a silly ditty,
You can sing it right away
Now, here is what you say
So sing it while you may
Here’s a silly jingle,
You can sing it night or noon
Here’s the words, that’s all you need
’Cause I just sang the tune:
Oh, I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
I don’t want her, you can have her,
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat
She’s too fat
She’s too fat for me
I get dizzy
I get numbo
When I’m dancing
With my Jum-Jum-Jumbo
I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat
She’s too fat
She’s too fat for me
Can she prance up a hill?
No, no, no, no, no
Can she dance a quadrille?
No, no, no, no, no
Does she fit in your coupe?
By herself she’s a group
Could she possibly
Sit upon your knee?
No, no, no
We don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
And she’s too fat for me
But she’s just right for me
We don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
Yeah, she’s too fat,
Much too fat
But she’s just right for me
She’s so charming
And she’s so winning
But it’s alarming
When she goes in swimming
We don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
But she’s just right for me
So I sure want her, you can’t have her
She’s just right for me
But she’s too fat!
She’s not too fat!
She’s just right for me!
She’s a twosome,
She’s a foursome
If she’d lose some
I would like her more some
I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
