“The sun is slowly fading in the western sky, sometimes it takes forever for the day to end, sometimes it takes a lifetime, sometimes I think I’ll never see the sun again.” ~Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. (1943-1997)
How this strip takes me back. I remember my dreams, though not as fantastic as Charlie’s. I was too busy learning and…inventing. I remember trying to build an oscilloscope tube to add to my storm predictor. I guess I was just trying to build the Doppler radar. I was about 9, then.

If you’re going to dream, you might as well dream big, right?

I don’t know Charlie Brown, might want to space that out a bit.

Set your sights too high and you may miss seeing the diamonds at your feet.
ronaldspence about 2 years ago
Hey Charlie Brown, maybe follow the advice of the great Casey Kasem “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.”

All those things can happen in the evening, no?
Decepticomic about 2 years ago
Start small. How about considering a day where you don’t play baseball a day not wasted? Cuz any day YOU play baseball is an automatic fail.

At least you’re not seeing Two Suns in the Sunset.

Instead of lamenting life CB, count your blessings every day … including the one standing next to you named Linus.
SusieB about 2 years ago
CB needs to learn to set simpler and attainable goals
JudithStocker Premium Member about 2 years ago
Just love Linus! He has more sense than his dominating sister, Lucy and most of the kids put together. He and Charlie Brown go well together.

You’re expecting too much from yourself at your age.

One can hit a home run every day, but three other things are unlikely to repeat daily. Unless CB sees a new girl in his dreams every night.

He eventually DID hit the home run.

I did marry the girl of my dreams. 1 out of 4 ain’t bad.
I’m not sure I’d ever want to be elected president. So maybe 2 out of 4?

charlie just be happy to make it to first base.
rmercer Premium Member about 2 years ago
There’s a little-known clause in the Nobel Prize rules that disqualifies anyone who has done any of those other things.

Charlie Brown, as my grandfather taught me many years ago, If you learn one new thing everyday, then the day is not wasted.

The presidential general election is held in November, several weeks after the World Series is over.

Nobel Laureates are too smart to get mixed up in politics…

No , Charlie Brown doesn’t ask for too much out of life.
