My dad said “I’ll be here when you get back.”

My mother. packed me a suitcase. Then when I came back she wouldn’t let me in. ….yeah, I’ve had therapy.

Ward tried a similar tactic when Beaver decided to run away from home. The Beav only got as far as Larry Mondello’s house.

Over on creators.com Ruthie mentions a puppet called Kiki the Kvetch. Can’t find it when I google? Does anyone know which puppet she’s referring to?

She knows she not allowed to cross the street. She’ll probably just go to grandma’s house.

Mom knew how to call Ruthie’s bluff…

Am I the only one who thinks Ruthie’s mom is just like her daughter?

I tried to run away but my brother threatened to tattle on me. If I did run away the tree of us would have ended up in the foster system and our NM… jail maybe? So I stayed and he tattled anyway.

I was about 7 when I attempted to run away; Mom filled a paper sack with my stuff and I got about 2 houses away before turning back; she was still standing in the doorway. Then Dad sat me down with tears in his eyes and asked very quietly “Do you know how much you’ve hurt your mother and me?” Almost 70 years have passed and I still wish he’d’ve just yelled at me. I cried for a month.

my mom helped me pack. waved goodbye and yelled, “Supper’s at 6”. Supper tasted pretty good.
