Smart aleck!
Makes sense to me.
I’m old and that joke is older.
When I’m out, I sell mine for 98¢
So much for good customer relations…
I liked the old days of price tags when you could peel them back and track the sales by the markups.
When I worked in a grocery store, snowbirds would always come in complaining about our prices. Tomatoes back in Michigan are only 33 cents a pound. I would tell them that was a long drive to get cheap tomatoes.
We had a saying at the store, that snowbirds come to the Gulf Coast with $20 and a shirt and don’t change either.
On the other hand, Rose, that place looks like what they sell would actually taste like tomatoes!
For me store bought tomatoes do not taste that great.
Old butcher joke.
Most places have two prices —organic and conventional. Here the also have two prices — in- stock and out- of- stock.

When this originally ran, I’m sure that was a lot. Now that’s a sale price!
Old joke, but still humorous…
Wow! That is OLD!!,
Haven’t purchased store-tomatoes in 7 years; ever since moving to farm-country. One of the local farmers even has a green house. Ahhhhh — Yummm
