Ok, my question is A. why is a Christmas strip running in February and B. Why do the Sunday color strips appear on Wednesdays and “regular” strips appear on Sundays?
Is this an Italian thing or a Depression-Era thing? Maybe both. I know Ruthie’s family is Italian…..and so am I with Depression Era parents who were children of immigrants. We not only had to unwrap gifts in such a way that the paper and ribbons could be reused, we had to bring home our brown paper lunch bags from school. Had to get at LEAST a week out of those! My mother saved foil and plastic wrap and also, we could never have a whole napkin. She would always cut them in half. Guess what? Now my DAUGHTER does the napkin thing and loves to say that she is channeling her Grandma when she gives everyone half a napkin with their meal. LOL.

The people that irritate me the most are the ones that unwrap a gift, with the careful finesse of a bomb squad technician…..

This comic always seems to be out of sinc with the world. So it’s no wonder it doesn’t feel like Christmas.

I once bought a hardcover book as a gift for an uncle. In the process of shredding the wrapper, he also shredded the book cover.

It doesn’t feel like Christmas because it’s nearly Valentine’s Day! And it doesn’t feel like Sunday because this is a weekday comic strip!
