Happy 2000 , folks!
Man, looking back at 2000… It all seemed so hopeful. Now…
I was born in 1953. Growing up, I couldn’t wait for the 21st Century. I was sure it would be the time when humanity would embrace peace, love, understanding and rationality. Boy, did I miss the boat on that one.

Haven’t seen the stars in many years. Too much light. See the moon and Venus and that’s about it.
When life hands you lemon moons, make lemon moonade?
Since the sun is a yellow dwarf, could it also be called a minilemon?

Actually, the year 2000 was the last year of the second millennium. The third millennium started on January 1, 2001. (There wasn’t a “year zero”.)
Holy moley this is an old strip… the “new” millennium was almost a quarter century ago!
Yes, I remember the climate of great illusion that existed for the new Millennium. Now there’s only the big disappointment.
