    I always had a hard time learning (and got lower grades) from women math teachers…and I am female. I always aced math classes taught by men.

    Of course he’s not applying the saying correctly – if he didn’t know (if he was ignorant of) how poorly he did in algebra he wouldn’t feel as bad – it would be (relative) “bliss”.

    Why do you need to learn algebra? Because you need it to learn calculus. Why do you need to learn calculus? Because you need it to learn differential equations. Why do you need to learn differential equations? Because without them, the world as we know it today wouldn’t exist.

    Taking algebra is a complete waste of time for Baldo. He will never have a job that requires it. He should take shop, auto mechanics or home ec. There are many better ways he could spend his time in high school.
