Thank goodness the holidays are over and now life can return to normal.

Flo can’t cook and Andy won’t work. What a pair.

Sounds like Andy’s wife and my mother went to the same cooking school! When I was drafted, the first time we went to the mess hall, the sergeant said food just like your mother cooked; I yelled don’t eat that crap, you will be sick for a week!

With the way Andy comes home smashed all the time, it’s a wonder Flo cooks for him at all!

Chalkie should know by now, the spaghetti bolognese smells like smoldering roadkill.

Oh…chili con carne……..

My mother wasn’t a very good cook. I didn’t realize that until I started having dinner at other people’s homes. But her baking was fantastic! I still fondly remember her pies, tarts, cookies and other desserts.

Fortunately, I am a more than passable cook-learned from my mom and grandma besides taking a semester of Chef & Tailoring in high school, great preparation for a 68-year-old bachelor and more useful than the alternative elective options of political science or economics). I fixed chili con carne for the cleaning girls on Wednesday and sent two jars of it home for their supper as they love it. (Both are Amish, so they know good cooking). The leftover is sitting on the stove right now with the addition of a cup of elbow pasta for supper tonight. (Impossible to make a small batch of chili)

Oh lovely. I’ll be right round. Haha.

On another note, I’ve just bought a Caffé Latte Iced Coffee from the supermarket. Can you guess why?

Yep. Because I will be getting Cashback from it. Another £1.60 in PayPal. Once the payment is approved, I’ll try it. So it doesn’t matter if it tastes horrible because I will have got it for free.
