Teacher asks boy “What d’ya wanna be when topic grow up?”
Boy says “Anything but a grown-up.”
Grammatical question: I know the quotes belong outside the punctuation. But that seems counter-intuitive if the period refers to the whole sentence, but the quotes refer to only a part off it.“.”.“.” (In my old books, I thought the quotation marks looked like a 66 and a 99, but filled in.)

Seems to me that panels 2 & 3 should be switched.
