Since our first date in Nov 1973 we went to the movies on a date at least weekly unless it was snowing enough for the theaters to be closed, one of us was too sick or we could not find a theater where we traveling.
So when Covid hit and we had to stay home husband insisted we have movie night at home. Originally watched on our main TV in the kitchen (and no going on the computer as I am now while we watch TV during movie night date). This past April he bought a small “big screen” TV for our living room – which was decorated (at his insistence) in late 18th century style, now have a big modern Ikea work table over the linen chest with the TV and accoutrements on it. (TV we had before is hidden in a piece of furniture.) Despite his promises it would not be – the TV picture is too bright for me to watch and he turns the sound up much more than he does in the other rooms in which we watch TV. So I have to watch the TV with a pair of those glasses they sell on TV for glare on and the ear plugs I use at the shooting range/reenactments in my ears – such a fun date, but it makes him happy. When the movie is over we spend another half to full hour looking for movies for next week.
3 weeks ago he decided we should be like when we were dating and have Friday night midnight movie night – starting of course with “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.
This takes away my personal time which is normally at night after 11:25 pm when he goes upstairs to his computer and lasts until he comes down for late night snack at around 2:00 am (going on right now as I post).

Should have fast-forwarded through the credits!!! (Who cares who the “gaffer” is anyway, other than perhaps members of their immediate family?)

At least she saw it, but will she tell hubby about it? Seems more likely she will thrill knowing something else he doesn’t know.

And – yes, movies on TV are NOT movies.
