Why would you make place cards? Other than giving the children something to do in another room, I suppose…but why would you, an adult qualified to handle a stove if only by virtue of being able to see over it, make place cards?
I might be sleep deprived again. For a second I missed the last bullet and my brain combined both bullets and so I was like, “What’s a kids table side dish and why does it need to be built?”
Post-turkey naps are nearly food comas. Cats love to help eat the dinner.
Monroe insisted on helping me eat my Thanksgiving dinner from our housing development. For $8, we get turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted sweet potato, and pumpkin pie. Volunteers make the food, so that keeps the cost low. We’re back to monthly dinners now that the pandemic is close to done. There are also drawings for small prizes and bingo some months. We have a volunteer band many times. They have lemonade, coffee, and water on offer, but alcohol is strictly BYOB. To top it off, the building is handicapped accessible. I felt ill Saturday, so the guys brought my dinner home, bless them.

Yes, Lupin, we know. The Woman is going to (again) forget to remove the middle rack from the oven when she pre-heats for the turkey!

It’s important to get plenty of practice in for the big post-meal nap on Thanksgiving Day!

Anybody know what song Puck is going for at the end? It’s not ringing a bell as presented.

My mind keeps trying to insert a YouTube song, “I had a lot to do today, but you know what I did instead? I took a nap. It was a very good nap.”

I let the “paralyzing wave of indecision wash over me” all the time. It helps me think. That’s been my excuse for years and I’ve stuck with it. ☺

“First, we nap” should be the title of the next BCN collection.

I’m glad that so far, all my fur babies have not slept on my face. Not sure how I would react to that.

Defrost the bird? WHY? Unless you’re in a rush to get the turkey done, low and slow from frozen is the way to go.
