From yesterday’s comments about my decorated pumpkin.

Perkycat asked, “Really cute ~ but doesn’t look like a pumpkin. Is there a pumpkin there?”

Yep, it’s a pumpkin. I sewed a piece of black fake fur all over the pumpkin. I made legs out of the fake fur, sewing pipe cleaners inside the legs to give them stiffness and to make them bendable. My original plan had been to use the fake fur to make a cat, but I did cats twice before and I decided this year I’d go creepy instead of cute. So far my pumpkin is in second place for votes (I know this because I’m collecting the money. We vote by putting money in jars and the pumpkin getting the most money wins. The money will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network.) In a couple more days when we get more entries in, I’ll show pictures of all of the entries. First place is really cute – a group of 4 M&M’s (really small pumpkins). We have a rule against carving the pumpkins. Carved pumpkins don’t last as long and they tend to draw bugs. Our contest ends on November 10th.

It’s been estimated that 100 billion human beings have lived since the dawn of mankind. That means we each have roughly 15 ghosts for each of us alive today. We’re never truly alone, and some people deserve to be haunted a bit more than usual!

I wonder what Uncle Herbert does on Thursdays?

It’s OK, Annie, Uncle Herbert is friendly.

Oh dear, it seems Annie isn’t taking this well. Hopefully, she’ll realize that Uncle Herbert means her no harm. On another note, saw two juncos, five dragonflies, and a woolly bear caterpillar while out walking today.
