Hasn’t Aunt Fritz heard of expiration dates ? Nancy must gobble up that candy before it expires. No need to let good candy go to waist. Who wants the “joy” of eating stale candy ?
This kind of thinking is interesting. Naturally, Nancy knows this kind of trick won’t help her. Fritzi’s not gonna just say “Oh well, I guess Nancy’s got me there” and let it go. But to the mind of a kid like Nancy, there’s still the feeling that it doesn’t really count if you try to use a loophole. As if this were a court of law, where you can get away on a technicality.
Reminds of Back to the Future 2 (Spoiler warning for that movie!).In that movie, Biff Tannen gets a book of horse race results from his future self, so that he can make all the right bets and become a billionaire. It works and he gets rich. But naturally, in the real world people wouldn’t care that there was no apparent explanation for Tannen’s constant wins apart from skill and luck. They’d just point out that constantly winning on every race by skill and luck is so incredibly unlikely that Tannen MUST be cheating. And since they know he’s cheating, they don’t NEED to figure out how he’s doing it, they’d just have him sleep with the fishes.

Oh dear. It looks like Nancy may have to settle for THE NUMBER ON.

Sigh. If Fritzi knows her tricks, maybe she should lock up the candy, then when Nancy is allowed a piece, SHE takes a piece and gives it to her.
