If the woman really loved her cat, she wouldn’t have had her declawed. Declawing is a dangerous and painful process for cats, plus it can leave them in pain forever, altering their personalities. A good vet does not declaw cats. Some states have banned the procedure. I wish all would. (But even with that, I find this arc funny!)

I know Mr. Peirce isn’t a cat person at all, but still…wish he’d left out the reference to declawing.

I’m late, but like.. Declawing can be inhuman. Declawing is not the same as clipping a cat’s nails. The only reason you should remove them, for example, is if they had an infected wound, scratch, or one of the toes was unsavable. Fully declawing makes the cats tempered, upset because walking on kitty-litter can hurt them, would you take off your children’s nails because they kept scratching your stuff? It fully removes the nail. I study this because I want to become a vet, and I know a lot about the procedure.

Please please PLEASE DO NOT declaw your cat. It is a very painful procedure and if you really love your cat please don’t do this! If your cat is scratching furniture get them a scratching post! Declawing a cat is like removing your fingers! It dosn’t matter if your cat is an indoor or outdoor cat declawing makes them angry and it hurts them when they walk on kitty litter. You also might think that “People have their appendix and stuff removed. It’s the same thing!” People do that because either A) They will die with it ex. Appendix explodes=You explode or B) Personal Choice!!!!!! Unless your cat has an infection or something that NEEDS for the claws to be taken out DO NOT DO It. Cats dont have a choice whether or not they want their claws removed!
