It’s all about perspective. I grew up in what would be considered extreme poverty in Canada, started working and helping my parents make the mortgage payments on the family home at the age of 10 and have struggled financially my entire life. In our society I am far below most people and was looked down upon by most people who knew me growing up. Yet if I took my family’s income when i was growing up and we had that income in a lot of other countries my family would have been considered prosperous. So, by the standards of where I lived I I was poor but compared to people around the world i was fortunate, but no one sees themselves that way because we tend to compare to those around ourselves instead of to people from all over the world.
The World War I flying ace is greeted by two French lasses, one whiny and one blithe. Alas, they are starved for attention. Curse this war and curse you Red Baron!
On Wednesday our skies weren’t gray they were filled with black smoke that made visibitly horrible due to a wildfire on a mountain about 20 miles from here. I was inside all day but Dad was out working in it and he said it was horrible and the smell of burning forest made it hard to breath. They haven’t said the cause of it yet but I figure it was someone who was burning leaves, even though it is illegal to do that, and the wind caught it and started the fire.

Where is there a volcano in Indiana??
More likely, they would be the victims of tornados.

At least she left out daylight saving time. Some people just can’t be silent about their suffering twice a year.
