as far as I can remember, my Arizona grandfather never had dentures

My mother had dentures before I was born.

Is it Canadian humor?

From Lynn’s Comments: My dad did this. He would pop his teeth out and make faces. It drove my mom crazy. At work, he’d keep his teeth in his breast pocket. One day, he fell against the counter when a customer came into his shop and he accidentally “bit himself” on the chest. We laughed about this for weeks.

All my grandparents and my mother wore dentures. Rarely did they “entertain” anyone with this trick. :D

now that’s a classic….just like pull my finger!!!

I remember my Grandpa doing that. Gramma would always yell at him when he did it. :D

Once my teeth are in for the day,they’re in for the day,granddaughters not withstanding…

A nice old lady who used to sit for me when I was a toddler used to remove her dentures for me for entertainment. I just thought she had magic teeth.

A toddler’s laugh of joy is one of the world’s truly great sounds. I have a recording of my daughter about that age cracking up when we were being silly and I use it for her ringtone. She rolls her eyes when I mention it, but I love it.

Dad joke, that can recycled for grandkids. Everything old is new again.

My dad had dentures due to an incident with my brother involving a baseball. (Imagine a Scotsman trying to play baseball.) Of course, Dad had “British teeth” – it may have been seen as a bit of a blessing because his teeth were so bad (in the British & Irish isles ‘having your teeth out’ was a rite of passage for many of his generation.) One upshot of learning this family lore (it happened before i was born) was i developed an overwhelming fear of getting a baseball in the face.

There was a creepy man in my old neighbourhood who delighted in frightening children by popping up in front of them with his dentures askew and growling. Nowadays, such behaviour might attract the attention of the local constabulary & result in remand for treatment or jail time.

My father used to do that! ;o]

My father’s mother did that to me when I was a kid. I spent forever pushing my tongue against my teeth trying to do it.

My dad had dentures, and in an effort to get used to the faster he decided to sleep in them. During the night they got to bothering him in his sleep and he took them out and threw them across the room. Later on in the night on his way for a bathroom break he bit himself in the foot. Family laughed for years to come when dentures are mentioned.

They are so easy to entertain at that age. It’s when they are older that it gets tough because they think they can only be entertained by a screen, be it a cell phone, tablet, computer or gaming machine hooked up to the TV.

I can remember my Granpa dropping his teeth like that and stomping around the kitchen to scare the grandkids. My little brother was terrified, while I thought Grandpa was really funny and laughed every time.

Grandpa had a sadistic sense of humor. He’s the one, on Christmas Eve, who took the shotgun, went out in the backyard, fired it off, and then came into the house and announced to one and all that there’d be no Christmas that year because " Sandy Claws was dead! "

My father does this with his dentures. It is especially fun to watch the toddlers try to copy him.

LOL… the old guy love kids, especially his grandchildren.

One uncle had something weirder that this. He would pretend to take out his eyes and wash them in his mouth while staring at you with the whites of his eyes. How he could roll them back in his head was a special talent

The love between April and her Grandpa is one of the sweetest things about this comic strip.

My dad used to do this, the kids thought it was great.

I think Grampa should do the “pull my finger” joke to April, which is much funnier

I once saw a pipe smoker blowing smoke rings for an awe-struck little boy, who would beg, each time, “Do-it-tahgain!”

I can do fine without those images.

Now if he can pull off the gag that the couple had to do in Beetlejuice he’s all set!

Had a grandpa in my family that did that to a three year old granddaughter and she was terrified.

My grandfather would entertain us for hours by wiggling his ears and flipping his dentures in his mouth before sticking them out!

My great uncle had no teeth poor guy LOL

My grandfather did that too. When there were several around when he did it he would tell us to take ours out too! We tried real hard! LOL

Marvelous! My father used to do that to me: freaked me and made me laugh every time. RIP and God bless you Dad.

I loved when my beloved grandpa did that too. He also could write Copperplate and make a wee mouse out of his handkerchief. Miss him. He and I were the only people in the family to have asthma
