’Tis true. This one is shorter and has curly fur on his ears. THE King Charles does not have curly fur on his ears.

Ooh, a new character, maybe? I sorta like King Charleses (or however you say it), although any breed that is bred for disabling traits (such as the Cavalier’s short nose) is not high on my list of favorites. Oops, sorry about the soapbox!

The Cavalier King Charles spaniel was named for King Charles II. It would have been an appropriate breed for Charles III but he and Camilla have a couple of Jack Russells which they rescued.

Such fun! Not being in the Commonwealth, I had overlooked that potential for a play on words. Thanks for the chuckle. Great way to start a day.

The King Charles Spaniels are adorable. I’m 99% our smaller BC is a KCxBC mix. His profile is definitely spaniel, he has the tail and a lot of the characteristics. Just adorable!

Too bad this wasn’t on Monday, King Charles III’s birthday. Happy 74th, sir.
