When my daughter was young and sentenced to the time out chair, we had to put it in the middle of the floor. If she was near anything, she would constantly kick it. We only made her sit there for only about 10 minutes, but to her at 6 or 7 it seemed like hours. BTW, she grew into a wonderful person.
