It was a rule of thumb that the word flicked was not to be used in the comics. Written in all capital letters, as the lettering is usually done, too much chance of the L and I running together. Reading pre-coffee this morning I read a forbidden word.
The only thing flicked off is the ant colony in platoon formations searching for pre game meal leftovers in P3. Toby skipping along with a handoff? Tip Nunn thinks that is absurd.
The only reasonable explanation for this sequence is that the QB is either running an RPO to the left or a bootleg to the right for a big gain or a touchdown and Toby is taking credit for selling the fake handoff.
If he really didn’t get touched, what’s the point of flopping? Is he expecting to get a couple of free throws? If that’s the case, he may need to enter concussion protocol.
That dude flops in front of me without being hit, next time he’s in my area with a legitimate reason for contact, I level him and really give him something to flick and twitch about on the ground.
Oh Hank, this one has got to be in your bottom five, along with the meal at Kaz’s hi-rise condo, the reintroduction of the HRAAKING peacock, Dying Mom in the nursing home and Jami’s D&D adventure.
If I did this as a player, or any player on any team I coached faked an injury on the field I would have been kicked off the team as well as any player I coached. Why, because of integrity in sports. I know I am fooling myself, TODAY, but in the past the majority of players respected their opponents, this shows no respect for the game, teammates or opposing players, and would not do something so underhanded as this.

Who got flicked off? In public?

I’ve never heard “crash” when two players collide. Crunch? Oof? Get off me, you…? It was violent enough to knock the color out of the strip, though.

And who is the mystery lady in P2?

Sold what and for what purpose? There are no points in football for going to the ground?

Unless you are a kicker I am not sure how a flop helps you here, especially if you are a running back.

Why would you do this? To gain what? And a player notices, but the refs don’t?

So where is the ball? Did Tobias fumble in his effort to sell it?

The crash must have occurred outside the stadium

The bro talking to Tobias in P3 has been sensitive about people faking pain since he lost the fingers on both hands in that farming accident

So we had a flick and a flop today. Exciting.

If today’s strip flicked you off, wait until you get a load of the lunacy in today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
