Rall is an all or nothing kinda guy, seems like. The Red wavicle entirely missed the Senate. There ARE some election deniers in positions of power in some states, but not in the ones that most matter. The House does look like it will go red(ish) but it ain’t over ‘til it’s over and it’s not, yet.
I hate to agree with Ted but for a loooong time it has irritated me no end how often democrats celebrate for losing by LESS than they expected. “We lost, but it was closer then we thought it was gonna be. Yaaa?”
Yes, Ted, we know. You’re the one who has been going after the Democrats nonstop.
Me, I’ve been reading about 1930s Germany (and 1850s US) for some time. I’ve seen the signs.
The good news is that we are seeing a demographic shift that may render the neo-Nazis (Same horrible taste! Fewer calories!) marginalized even more than they are now. The pollsters and media all missed the boat on this, I think because younger people and women are voting, and they are not getting captured by the polls.
I think Michael Moore is right on this – he was right about #45 getting elected, and he was right that the “Red Wave” would not happen. The Democrats have the Senate, and may cement it if Georgia goes the right way, and the House is still not fully decided.
The Dems retained the Senate, hardly a small victory. Now, if a Republican House wants any legislation to even be sent to President Biden, they’re going to have to compromise with the Senate.
They’ll have the House by a few members. They’ll rule as if they won every seat. Meanwhile, Democrats will retain the filibuster, and thereby surrender to the Republicans in the Senate.
Ted, making false comparisons to the NAZI elections and our own. What a shame.
I like that Ted cuts the Democrats no slack, they need to be held accountable, just like the Republicans need it. But his failure to see positive growth amid all the negativity hurts his message.
This is what I’ve been thinking too. Liberal and conservative media are treating this as a mandate on republicans and trump, but with control of the house, the republicans can stall everything just as well as with both chambers. Without the presidency they wouldn’t get any legislation through anyway so what is the difference between one or both chambers? You’d think there works be some celebration in Republican circles as opposed to just finger pointing.
The difference between now and the time that Nazis won in Germany is that so far the Republicans haven’t won either the House or the Senate. I still think the Democrats will take both houses.
This isn’t a binary matter. Things have to be won and progress in increments. Democrats showed both abortion restrictions and attacks on democracy are extremely unpopular, and helped set up the coming civil war in the GOP. Not bad for a mid-term.
I live in DC, where I don’t have much of a dog in the Congressional fight. That said, if I was drowning and was given a choice between a life preserver (Democrats) or a large, heavy rock (Republicans) my response wouldn’t be, “No thanks, I’ll just wait for a lifeboat to arrive”.

I dont get your point
Facism is facism the opinion should be “phew we dodged a bullet there” and not we were so close to getting completely “fuddled in the butt”

A one-person majority still enables Reps to throw a monkey wrench into the works. Probably. Right? Or not?

Yes, the Republican Nazi’s won less than expected, but are still a real threat to democracy and freedom.

True, the Fake News did expect a lot of Republicans to win, not the National Socialists.
