For a very old witch, her magic skills are really quite low. Sure, noone does lightning bolts as good as she does, but the much younger Dumbledore could make a chicken feast appear with the wave of a hand.

When the pocket book is empty the pride is low.

I guess the zapper’s on the fritz, cause he could really use a zapping. On the other hand, he did pay for the food.
