I stopped carrying a purse; put DL and needed credit card in checkbook then either put the checkbook in the inside pocket of a vest or a scrubs pocket. The result is hands free and no backaches!

Every “gatherer” needs a good basket. Every “good” gatherer needs a great purse.

Are you the office supply store, Cathy? I’d shut that down in a hot second. The only people I carry things for are kids, and that was only when they were young. I have a wristlet that carries my DL, credit card and cash (I prefer to tip with cash), my phone, and my car key… with those 3 items, I’m good to go anywhere. In my state, I could even put my DL on my phone, so technically I would be fine with the phone and car keys. I don’t have a dog that needs toys or treats, so yay for the smart phone!

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!

I stopped carrying a purse years ago. Pockets! I never buy pants or jackets or dresses that don’t have big pockets. Credit cards and ID go in a small holder on a string that I wear around my neck, under my clothes.

I have no idea how my wife can carry her purse around a mall or even a Disney park all day – I think it weighs as much as she does.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians here and happy Indigenous Peoples Day/Columbus Day to those of you south of our border. Happy Monday to everyone else – unless you are celebrating a special day too.

Not a fun day to celebrate our 47th anniversary today. My daughter took my wife up to emergency last night and they are keeping her there until our visiting surgeon can remove her gall bladder (we don’t have a resident surgeon here any more). To make it more fun our hospital does not have any available beds so my wife is in obstetrics. Rather funny since she is 72 and definitely not planning on more children! We are all rather happy it has come to this since she has been suffering for quite a while and is even on the urgent list for surgery. We may have a ‘great’ health care system in this country but the shortage of doctors and specialists does not help at all.

I’ve never been one for carrying around a heavily-loaded purse. These days mine just has a wallet, my smartphone and a recyclable shopping bag or two, now that most stores here don’t give you bags for your purchases.

I carry a mini backpack when I go to work that holds all the essentials that I may need throughout the day (co-workers have asked for meds or feminine supplies). If I’m just making a quick trip to the store, I carry my DL in a case with a lanyard that also fits a credit/debit card.

While I never carried a purse that was this big, it was still plenty big enough because I always felt like I had to be prepared for pretty much anything that might come up. Over the last few years, though, I’ve managed to get everything I really need into a small crossbody bag: my driver’s license, money, credit card, cellphone, sunglasses, house/car key, hairbrush and whatever shade of lipstick I’m wearing that day. Oh, the sweet freedom of not having to carry around such a big, heavy purse anymore! ლ (ᵔ◡ᵔ) ლ

Sheesh—that purse of comic Cathy’s looks like it needs wheels. At first I thought the scraps of paper under it were wheels, until I looked again. That thing needs its own ZIP code, too. Ha.

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

I still carry a small cross-body bag. It just holds my phone, wallet and any meds I need to carry.
