we did this the other day. Taking a walk suddenly my dog wants to run into the marsh! Whatever it was, she found it. Thank goodness for sturdy leashes.
My beagle is offering to sniff out anything in the vicinity with one inhale to help out. I get such a kick out of people in the hospital where she is a therapy dog asking her if she can smell their dog. I sometimes will tell them she probably smelled their dog when she saw them across the room. Plus she seemed to detect a cat. Amazingly, they usually do have a cat. I can read my dog pretty well. She very rarely will sniff someone. She doesn’t need to get that personal. I tell people she knows everything they have done for six months. We went to the hospital yesterday and again today. We both are totally seriously tired. She missed her 4-hour morning nap because we went much earlier than usual today.

“What are you looking for”?.“I’ll know when I find it”.

Happens to me multiple times per day. Can’t remember why I’m in a particular room.

I love the (written) sound effects. Just this morning I was treated to a similar experience when our Greyhound decided it was time for me to wake up.
