Ah, the smell of school peanut butter. We had some good smells like that in junior high with vegetable soup. Those two were a perfect match. And the smell was intoxicating.
My mother worked in the school cafeteria. On fridays, because of the catholics, we had to have fish. Now and then she made Tuna Roona. It was basically creamed tuna on toast, or Tuna SOS. I called it Ruin the Tuna.
Could be worse, School. You could be my grandparents Lutheran Church that did a Lutefisk dinner every December. If you’re lucky, the smell only lingers for a day or two with proper ventilation. If not…come Easter Sunday you’re wondering who hide the rotten Easter Eggs.

Maybe the peanut butter is what holds the bricks together?

Don’t be. The smell will go away after the kids eat.

That’s not peanut butter you smell, that’s the left over gym socks that never get washed.

In my day, it was the smell of chalk dust and the spirit-duplicating solvent on our test papers. (I said I was an old lady.)

Don’t feel bad, School; you aren’t the only one fighting depression.

Charlie Brown usually had peanut butter for lunch—and the kids were usually shown eating their lunch OUTSIDE on benches!!
