Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for December 19, 2022

Allow me, Phoebe. (Pulls out a megaphone) “IT’S BECAUSE OF ALL THE SPARKLING TREES, RIGHT MARIGOLD?!”

Could upgrade to a blindfold. Assuming she has some sort of magic radar she can navigate with. One that can’t detect how sparkly something is.

I forget already, but do unicorns not have an equivalent to Christmas but which involves no sparkling?

I guess for one thing this means Marigold’s head is the same shape and length as a horse’s head in Phoebe’s world.

And I think that if I remember correctly that blinders are to keep horses from being snappish with each other and it helps them not to get spooked by every little thing that happens beside them.

Marigold looks cool like that, but she should be insulted with herself because she is doing a horsy thing.

I’m not sure but I think Dana’s horses when I saw them once in the first or second book were bigger than Marigold and their eyes were farther apart.

I’m not sure if Dana intended Marigold to be the size and proportions of a horse.

And if horses look like unicorns in her comics.

I remember her saying in a drawing video she had to study horses for a short while to make the unicorns for her comics.

Although they are still a cool unique style and not too lifelike.

Just like how My Little Pony are supposed to be ponies yet they really look far different.

The new generation g5 looks like a combination between a human, goat and some pony features

Blinders are to keep a horse calm, as they can see things coming behind them, with blinders they can’t !

Last panel I can see Marigold putting her hooves next to her ears going “La la la la”!

That’s one way to deal with jealousy.

The name Thomas Edison are curse words in the unicorn world.

Marigold: “LALALA, I CANNOT SEE THE SPARKLY LIGHTS BEFORE ME!”

Christmas lights: “Imma gonna ruin this unicorn’s whole career.”

Angels: “Allow us to demonstrate a fraction of our combined power.”

God: [kracks knuckles]

So is this the first time Marigold has been aggravated enough to bare her upper teeth?

Envy. Does anyone ever use that word anymore?

She can always have Phoebe to decorate her like a Christmas tree.

Marigold doesn’t know Phoebe by voice yet?

Marigold is wearing horse blinders when she hates being compared to or called a horse?

A sad time for unicorns.

Marigold has her problems, but at least she’s honest about them. (Well, most of them.)

So she’s now deaf and blind. Poor Marigold
