I thought it was an insult like the English “chancer” (opportunist /con artist.) Looked it up. Nope, lucky. High school was over 60 years ago. Beware cognates.
I was asked one time did I speak English. I replied No. I speak American….that’s why you’re not understanding me. It’s like learning French in school then actually hear real French being spoken and just going Whaaaat? Now reading it not so hard.xD
