Bucky actually has a point. The few soap operas left in the United States feature the lifestyles of the fabulously wealthy and famous. The top soap operas in Britain are “East Enders” and “Coronation Street” about working-class neighbourhoods.

Bucky makes a valid point. The standard fare of both the BBC (UK) and CBC (Canada) is a bit more cerebral in general than the standard fare is here.
