Is Nancy drinking coffee to keep awake from dreaming about school during vacation time ? Or is she drinking hot cocoa to reduce the chills she felt after her nightmarish dream ?
I love having dreams about having to go back to school, because it lets me experience the relief of realizing I don’t actually have to care about school.
I once dreamed I was back in my elementary school, same brick classroom, everything. And halfway through the first class, I thought, “Waitaminute, didn’t I already go through this?” :D :D :D
Nancy, welcome to the wonderful world of teacher dreams. When I started, I had them just the last couple of weeks before school started. Toward retirement, I had them all the time. Even now, I occasionally still have them.
“Top Secret” is a silly parody of WWII spy movies. In one scene, the hero dreams and we hear him thinking, “Lockers, classrooms… oh my god, I’m back in high school! No, wait it’s just a dream. I’m actually in a Nazi death camp. Thank god! Thank god!”
Retired woodshop teacher of 32 years. I still have the recurring dream of some out of control class. Most anyone who has taught for some length of time have these as well.

I hate dreaming about work, I feel I should be getting paid.

Last time I dreamed myself back to school, it ended in a zombie uprising. Good thing I kept a samurai sword in my locker.

I had one of those last night, I was in orchestra class. Which I’d quit a year* earlier.
