Interesting. After being such a bossy nag all week in school Peppermint Patty’s fiery red hair has turned light brunette when she calms down and talks about love.

A complicated relationship. At some point Peppermint Patty began coming over and hanging out with Charlie Brown on Sundays, the two of them facing opposite directions while leaning on the same sapling. PP will seek wisdom or occasionally fish for a compliment, and never be happy with CB’s answers. But she keeps coming back …

Believe it or not, a lot of people sent Charlie Brown Valentines after the Valentine’s Day special because they felt for him.

You can still be wise, even if you haven’t experienced something yourself. Many people with lots of experience are total fools.

Last year I recounted how I had my own Charlie Brown style Valentine’s drama in high school where I never got invited to the big ’girl’s choice’ dance. I did grow out of my resentment. But maybe we do put too much on this annual event. Happy Valentine’s Day.

If I were Patty I would have jumped up and made Chuck a card. Selfish girl!

The question is, does she want to know about romantic love, or all kinds of love? Valentine’s Day is not just about romantic pairs. People always seem to forget there are many kinds of love, not just romantic ones, but of course, people are just too obsessed with romance. You can see it everywhere. A book, a series, any media can have tons of lore and character development, yet fans always seem to care only about the pairings and shipping.

That really galls CB.

A Valentine has nothing to do with love. Valentine’s Day has everything to do with overspending and little to nothing with love.
