Years ago I worked in a gas station pumping gas, doing lube jobs, oil changes, etc. For a while I worked with a guy who meditated on his lunch break. One day he came back from his lunch and said to me, “You know, we’re performing a useful service here.”

That’s definitely the down-side to telepathy. There are several short stories on the point.
