Except no one’s sworn in while the clown circus tries to elect a Speaker. Nor any legislation passed even for an emergency nor Congressional staffers paid (that will probably be the biggest motivator to resolve this situation). That shining beacon is weakly dying.

Appreciate cartoon, but Matt jumped the gun on lead time. No one can be sworn in, yet. He didn’t know that the GQP would fumble around and take so long to decide who they want to be their majority leader. With their ineffectual decision making skills, things aren’t looking good. The adults in the room need to come up with a solution so some governance can be done.

The GOP cannot even work together, so who believes that they could possibly work across the aisle for the good of the Country?

Look to 2 more years of an ineffectual Congress.

In this case, Santos has lots of company. Support the Constitution? Yeah, right. How much of the Constitution even remains? And the Bill of Rights is now little more than the Bill of Right.

It’s their own fault. They voted for him – not everyone, I know, but more than didn’t.

George Santos accused of claiming to vote for bill before being sworn in – which he also wrongly claimed

U.S. Congressman-elect George Santos (R-NY) has a long list of lies attached to his name, and that list continues to grow by the day. Santos, who – like every member of the House of Representatives, including incumbents – is technically not a congressman since he has not been sworn in yet, thanks to the Republicans who have now spent two days and six votes and have yet to elect a Speaker. No one can be sworn in until a Speaker has been chosen.

Just another lying out of touch with reality republican.

Mr. Santos, bring me more lies—tell us how often your poor mother dies, how you’ve degrees no school will acknowledge, how many even say you’ve been to college?Santos, your grandparents, Jews,Not very likely says all of the news. And your claim to that Friends of Pets charity, one can find no truth or verity, Santos—you’re no landlord, as you’ve said, you yourself were several times evicted. No one who worked for you was shot in Orlando, surprised you haven’t claimed you’re pals with Marlon Brando.Mr. Santos, you’re such a slime, let’s hope they kick you out of Congress in time, before you defile the House’s halls—Mr. Santos, your every word’s false.[extemporaneous new lyrics to “Mr. Sandman”](oh yes, please share—!)
