I love the subtle truths this comic tells. Note that Kevin habitually doesn’t do homework in part because he has no place to do it. This was true in my house too and I never realized it until I was an adult. My parents used to scream at me for not doing homework while setting aside neither time nor place to do it! Kevin’s mom is no doubt doing her best but also setting her kids up to fail.

Study louder, you two!

This is actually not a good thing. She doesn’t trust her kids and they give her no reason too. Miles’ expression in the last panel says it all
