Not sure what the Nobel Peace Prize has anything to do with it. He’s the only U.S. person to win the prize and have a federal holiday. so there’s no precedent.

Caulfield’s question is easily answered: Perspective. Looking FORWARD has a very different “time-feel” than looking BACKWARD.

I assume he means 9/11 by “15 years after,” but the inauguration of George W. Bush was 15 years to the day.

“Making history” is a rather hit-or-miss enterprise.

The last thing I want is for the people who are “making history” to be more energized. Or rather, what most people think of as history.

When people the Wright brothers or Martin Luther King or Alexander Fleming or Malcolm McLean “make history”, that’s a good thing. When kings, dictators, politicians, and bureaucrats “make history” it’s very often a bad thing.

They are the source of those “interesting times” of the curse “May you live in interesting times”.

People become actors and aim for an Oscar. Do people who dedicate their lives to influence the course of history think only of Nobel’s or similar prizes? Would be demeaning to think so.

Does Frazz see MLK as lacking energy? This is quite a cut-down. Dr. King radiated with energy. He projected positive ideas and empowered people. Frazz uses his energy running, MLK used his to change the world.

About the same amount of time it took to make Lincoln’s birthday a holiday in just a few states.

Here’s how Alabama honors Dr. King:

Holidays are only named to honor someone who is dead so that he cannot do anything to make people regret the day. Just think about all the people who named the daughter Daenerys
