The Barred Owls in our neighborhood are neither quiet nor lonely.

The owl kind of likes this guy. He’s pretty cool and he seems to be a really good listener.

Mr. Owl has personal needs that his self perceived image can’t cash.

Add t he owl to the cast of regular animals.Just remember that their main diet is live mice.

Maybe we can wean him onto cold cereal.

Owls don’t bottle up their emotions. We found an injured male owl; broken wing, likely struck by a car returning to the nest. I called a birds of prey rescue center and they came to pick him up. They found the owl’s nest contained three owlets. They rescued the chicks too because dad hunts and mom feeds the chicks. Without her mate the chicks would starve slowly. Momma owl watched us silently from a nearby tree. For weeks mom sat in trees around the nest hooting for her mate and owlets. Owls typically mate for life.
