Many commentators seem quick to pass harsh judgement on Fred. As a former security guard, I congratulate him on his polite but firm handling of someone without security clearance. It’s not a good way to make friends but it is a good way to protect existing friends.
Fred, perhaps you and your friends could arrange to meet this newcomer at the park or something; even if you’re busy just now, you shouldn’t shut the door on a new friendship.
