Reminds me of the 1980’s. I wondered into a comic bookstore after noticing in the window it was quite busy. I quickly realized upon entering that there were no children to be seen, not a one. Later, I asked my brother, a literature professor, about it and he just laughed and explained that comic books had evolved to appeal to a more adult taste with more adult themes and more graphic violence. This made me more empathetic towards those who wish for a more innocent time in their lives. But don’t get me wrong. Even in my advanced years I am absolutely amazed that most of my comic book heroes of the past have come to such realistic life up on the big and small screen. It’s my second childhood.

She secretly reads Nancy. And Young Lust. And draws comix that make R. Crumb’s women look like stick figures. He is drawing a comix featuring the attack of the evil pegasaurus and he hopes she will… collaborate

My list is arranged so my favorites are last. Last two are 9 Chickweed Lane, then Last Kiss. Does anyone know why we can’t comment on Chickweed?

Do any of US know any adults who read comic books??

My wife kinda had the same attitude….then I had her read “The Death of Captain Marvel”…got her hooked now.

I like this one ! Gave me a good chuckle . .

Europeans were way ahead of us on this one. “Graphic novels” were versions of comics for adults. I still have some “Lucky Luke” and “Asterix” graphic novels from the 1970’s. As a side note, comic books/graphic novels are one of the best ways to learn foreign languages. I learned a lot of Dutch by reading Donald Duck comic books in that language.

She reads romance novels. No pictures….just words. Some girls like words…..it’s why they talk a lot. xD

I remember reading this in Comic Buyer’s Guide 25 or 30 years ago.

She should see my ‘Incredible Hulk" undies. She’ll have to look fast, though, they tear away during my transformation…
