Current events through the lens of 200 year old pop references? The original Vic was all about resistance to assimilation being futile. Glad you’re still kicking, Pab!
“While the notion of computers becoming sentient and attempting to wipe out or take over the human race had been in the public’s consciousness since at least the 1950s, when the crisis actually came it began in a way so absurd that humanity didn’t recognize its peril until it was almost too late.”
Excerpt from “We Are Not Amused: How a Comic Strip Almost Destroyed the World,” a paper presented at the American Historical Association’s annual meeting, Philadelphia, PA, January 15-19, 2099
I can’t help with the art, but can’t the academic problem be immediately annihilated by switching higher education to what Oxford calls “Tutorials” and Cambridge calls “Supervisions”? I’m only an ignorant Yank, of course, but I’ve long admired it from afar.
