Not really connected to what the girls are up to here, but Agnes’ line in panel three put me in mind of Victor Buono as Dr. Clove in the 1973 Odd Couple episode, “The Exorcists.” After scheduling a late-night appointment with Felix (Tony Randall) to exorcise a ghost from an air conditioner, he tells Felix several items that should be ready upon his arrival, ending with:
Dr. Clove (mystical voice): . . . . and a half a chicken.
Felix (surprised): A half a chicken?
Dr. Clove (mundane, work-a-day voice): Yeah, sometimes around midnight I get a little hungry.

If you are going to eat the corn dog first, there is no point in making a “ham salad”. You are no longer hungry.
