…..and it’s not loud enough now.

I played the Beatles 50 years ago, even after they broke up.

My younger brother had a little band with his friends in our basement 50 some years ago, and with drums, guitars and amplifiers, yes, they were loud! I was much quieter playing the piano upstairs. It also helped with the noise to have homework to do.

I recall standing right in front of the speakers when I went to dances with live bands. And, yes. My hearing is impaired now.

Not necessarily, Cosmo. I didn’t play my music too loud as it would destroy the timbre. And I’m experiencing ear trouble. I suspect mine was caused by power tools, especially the circular saw. I didn’t start using ear protection until after the damage was done.

Rock concerts, chainsaws, motorcycles, target shooting and power tools is where mine went.

Bought an OTC amp a couple years ago, works great and only $150. The trick is to use it at the lowest setting that helps.

A lot of rock stars from that era have lots of hearing issues, I believe.

Headphones, cramming for college exams, the best rock music in the world, I’m in the same boat.

Of course no one’s hearing has diminished simply due to aging. Same with eyesight. Nope. Haven’t changed a lick since my 20s.

Loud and out of tune is the worst.

My hearing aids connect to my phone, which has my music. The fidelity is great and tunes sound like they’re inside my head so I’m not having a seizure, I’m listening to Edgar Winter’s Frankenstein.

I’ve been using that line(but “OUR Parents were right”), for a long time..

197?, Madison Square Garden, forth row, right in front of the stacks, Ted Nugent and Black Sabbath. And many more shows like that, so yeah…

I remember reading a long time ago that the Swedish army was having to reject a lot of young men for hearing impairments arising from the music they were listening to.

Truth!

My high school (and college) rock band, we were loud! But my wife is the one with hearing aids.

I go to 30 or 40 live music shows a year and religiously wear high-quality ear plugs. Ironically, I lost some hearing in my left ear several years ago after a post-flu bout with acute labyrinthitis.

I hear ya…

Word! That’ll do it.

Cosmo was really amp-ed up.

Prior to getting my hearing aids, I saw an otologist who asked me what insults (that’s the technical term) I had done to my ears in the past. I had to admit that I had been in the fourth row at a The Who concert. I had been to lots of other rock concerts, but that one gave me a temporary threshold for several days.

I heard the same thin when I was a kid. Thank God for volume control on air pods.

Talking isn’t loud enuff cuz the music drowns out the talking.

Makes me glad I’m a old fashion Country Music fan.

It doesn’t take 50 years.
