I actually posted this very idea on facebook about 10 years ago. No, I’m not claiming ownership – I’m quite certain this idea is as old as bacon itself.
After reading todays comments I was wondering what, if anything, I could add but alas, I’m not good at expressing myself, or funny and witty or athletic or good-looking or rich……I forgot where I was going with this but I do know I love bacon.

If you’re unhappy, bacon is a great consolation. Alternating with dark choc.

It may be happiness to you, Garfield; but not to the poor pig who has to sacrifice for it!

If you love bacon, like me, do not, repeat, do not marry a dietician like I did. Boy I miss BLT sandwiches.

The original meaning of the phrase was “The mindless accumulation of luxury goods leads to diminishing returns on satisfaction.”

Anyone who says money can’t buy happiness, just doesn’t know where to shop.

Metaphorically, money and bacon are the same thing.

It’s only a temporary happiness.

I don’t think Garfield is ever going to realize that you can’t base your happiness on material things alone.
