1 – Back in the olden days, some teams had a policy of admitting kids/fans into the “cheap seats” for returning (costly) baseballs, which in the earlier years, fans were not allowed to keep foul balls either.
The usher is wondering why Bozo didn’t go into the park, but finding baseballs might be more fun than watching someone else play with them – or possibly he’s gone back to help the kids get in too. : )
(Related: In Wrigley Field, once upon a time some kids were able to earn a future ticket by staying after the game and folding up the seats to clear the rows for the cleaning crew.)
Mr. Foxo Reardon still makes my day with BOZO. I am so glad I learned of this wonderful strip. It brightens my day. My lovely wife is home hospice and soon going home to be with the Lord. I am so grateful for these minutes that brings a smile and happiness into my heart each day. Bozo, a gift that keeps on giving. Mr. Reardon may not have expected his “Bozo” to
bring love too so many people for so many years. Very well done Sir.
A Happy St. Patrick’s Day to each and everyone, whether you are Irish or not. Foxo Reardon was proud of his Irish heritage. Both his parental grandparents were born in Ireland. But after having my DNA analyzed by ancestry.co, I found that he was more Scottish than Irish. But he always claimed that if a person has only one drop of Irish blood, he/she is Irish. The ancestral home of the Reardons in Ireland is County Donegal. The name Reardon in the Gaelic language was originally pronounced as “O’ Rioghbhardain,” shortened to “Riogh Bhard” and means “Royal Bard.” Have a grand, safe and pleasant St. Patrick’s weekend!
Such lovely lively and delightfully detailed drawings today! Where do you get to see such splendidly drawn comics these days?
And especially so for FoXo tells all funnies with awesome artwork alone. No words!
1. The old hole in the fence trick always work to watch game without buying tickets.
2. Folks these days may not get this one (including meself). Look like some sort of buttons. But can certainly relates to things going under furniture and remaining missing till found.
3. Hi fi club rendered in Splendid three dimensional pictures by FoXo!
…
For those who come in late, these fabulous fun funnies was envisioned and executed so brilliantly by FoXo Reardon, a true master cartoonist who told his funny tales with his awesome artwork alone, without any of his characters in BOZO ever saying a single word.
An especially excellent epitome of pictures speaking thousand words, BOZO also the most pleasant picturesque pantomime where every panel is like a photograph of a three-dimensional cartoon world of realistic-looking depths and details. Such was his powerful perspective artwork which brought to life a lovely lively world of BOZO!
FoXo a rare combination of both sharp wits and artistic talents which is rarely seen together in the same cartoonist, a true master and professional cartoonist whose work quality speaks for itself and as you can see for yourself BOZO is pure gold coming from a golden era of cartooning! More about FoXo and BOZO in the About page.
So no wonder that these wonderful wordless wonders still bring great joy and sheer cheer to many even today.
But despite being a great classic of great creative calibre, neither BOZO nor FoXo are much known or remembered these days.
Spread the word, friends, so that BOZO can spread more joy and cheer to many many more!
…
And yes of course another big… (Continue in reply).
Where’s The Ball – Foxo outdid himself to tell the story of how children and adults would peek through a fence to watch a baseball game, and with luck end up with a over the fence baseball. A HAUL- Bozo dressing to the “8’s” (normally the “9’s”) but those blasted top buttons seem to fly under the dresser. SOLID COMFORT- Bozo dressed to the “9’s” heading into his Gentlemen’s Club. Ah, the words of Groucho Marx ring in my ears, “I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member!” {Fuzzy Watch: How clever of Foxo to have Fuzz’s reflection in the mirror and Fuzzy as an Aesthete Connoisseur Art lover.}
1) BALL’S ALIVE: Outside a game a ball flies over and lands in the undergrowth but rolls right next to Bozo who brings it in and gets a seat. He notices the chilren looking and thinks there is another ball lost.
2) SURPRISE CATCHE: While dressing in his fine clothing he loses a tie clasp under his dresser. Using his walking stick finds a huge haul of them.
3) SYBARITIC LUXURY: Bozo goes to his upper-class club to get comfortable to read.

2•∙ Button, button, who lost their buttons?
3•∙ Bozo knows how to relax in style! Hey look, Fuzzy’s a member here too.

1) Searching the ball that wasn’t there. ㋛
2) Bozo, you have enough to sell, now. ☺
3) Bozo won’t be “Member of the month”. Fuzzy is a more likely candidate. ♡

I’ve seen many things similar to A Haul, but regarding cat toys.

I’ve now noticed that Foxo was generally stingy with cast shadows.
Panel #1 of the first strip has an exciting cast shadow event with BOZO aiming an eye through a fence knothole.
In strips #2 and three we are shown cast shadow events, under furniture.
If this is near the beginning of the Foxo Reardon set, I’m pleased that I can commence my viewing near that point in his career.

2. Truly a fancy ‘do’ in the works that would justify a shirt with button studs. One of the few times it can be useful to have extra starch.
BTW – The mirror is a little ‘Fuzzy’.

1) Perhaps it was a second ball that popped out of the high grass.
2) Well, now Bozo doesn’t have to shop for buttons.
3) After fastening his buttons, Bozo enters the club to relax in his own inimitable fashion.

3 Don’t forget to zoom in on the wall art. Foxo could be sneaking in minimalistic yet tasteful nudes again.
