It’s depressing these days what I consider a good price on eggs.

Eggs… the new Gold Standard in the US!

I dropped an egg on the floor the other day. It felt like someone hacked my bank account and took a handful of cash.

This is no laughing matter.

The egg farmer sure does not get much from them.

“CPI data shows that the average retail cost in U.S. cities for a dozen eggs increased nearly 50% from $1.72 in November 2021 to a record-breaking $5.59 in November 2022”…Yeah, but it’s still only $5.00. Is it more expensive? Yes, but come on people.

The price of eggs where I am has gone back down almost to where is was before the bird flu hit the hen population and millions of them had to be destroyed. Commodity market has fallen.

It may get to that point!

First it was TP, then masks, then hand sanitizer. What next?

When razor blades reached that price point was when I grew a beard for the principle of it.

I bought eggs yesterday, $3.89 for 18. The prices are about back where they were. There was a health issue, many chickens were destroyed, meaning less eggs.

I didn’t buy eggs often but I don’t buy them at all now. Only when the prices go down…

I once had a GF who had a pet goose. One goose egg = about three hen eggs.

All this about eggs brought to mind the story of the goose who laid the golden eggs. Instead of killing the golden goose, he should’ve found a golden gander and mated them. Then he’d have many golden geese!!
