Not many railroads hired Latinos as conductors or engineers, except perhaps the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe. Pocket watches were very important in those professions.

After my dad died (33 years ago this past Friday) my mom started wearing his watch. Mom is now 94 – I am guessing that my sister has the watch now.
