LIkely this is to mimic wherever the Dunns are living now. And Lupin has never been happier.. and now i’m sad because that last panel reminded me the real lupin is gone.
It’s A Lupin drag strip! I wish I had on of those, instead of the intricate street course my girls run! It sometimes sounds like the running of the bulls as well.
Annnnnnnd, there OFF! Lupin are Goldie are thundering down the race track, neck and neck! Izzy is 3rd and O.Z is last! As they fly toward the finish line, it’s Lupin, Goldie, Lupin, Goldie! And the winner is….O.Z!!
Lovely! We need to see a new addition of the 2 am Running of the Cats in order to incorporate all the new space. Perhaps there will even be more lamps to knock over.
I live in an apartment, and one of the cats begs to go in the hallway when I open the door. Then scoots down the hall with her tail straight up in the air. Then high-tails it back to the apartment when anything scary – like a harmless little sound – happens.
In the evening, Marie and I listen to the cats gallop back and forth in the hallway. Although Holmes is the youngest and the newest to the clowder, he is the leader of the nightly stampede.
And now for something completely different…
Our oldest, Alexandria, was on an international trip with her sophomore class last week. Everyone attending Cottey college can experience such a trip; your tuition covers it. This year, they went to Vienna, Austria, and Alex had a blast. She brought her old man back some Viennese coffee. I brewed some this morning, and I am enjoying my Einspänner. According to lore, this drink originated for the Viennese carriage drivers, and the whipped cream at the top kept your espresso warm when the weather was cold.
Alex is brilliant and has academic aspirations. She also has a wicked sense of humor and is an excellent writer. Her observational posts from her travel were hilarious. How lucky Marie and I are to have raised two outstanding children. I call it luck, but in reality, it was Marie who constantly exposed the kids to new experiences and challenges.
My house growing up has the staircase in the middle, so our cat used to run in circles around the whole house. Being originally from Indianapolis, we called it her Indy 500! I suppose others living in Louisville might have said it was her Kentucky Derby; both would fit.

It does enjoy me (yeah-yeah, yo)
Do you wanna feel how it feels? (Yeah-yeah, yo)
Do you wanna know, know that it does hurl me? (Yeah-yeah, yo)
Do you wanna hear about the deal that I′m making? (Yeah-yeah, yo)
You
It’s you and me
And if I only could
I’d make a deal with God
And I′d get him to slide through places
Be running up (and down!) that way
Be running up (and down!) that hall
Be running up (and down!) that building
See, if I only could, oh
You don′t wanna hurl me (yeah-yeah, yo)
But see how swept the parquet lies (yeah-yeah, yo)
Unaware, I’m clearing it down under (yeah-yeah, yo)
Oh, there is thunder in our hearts (yeah-yeah, yo)
Is that to clean the plate for the ones we love? (Yeah-yeah, yo)
Oh, tell me, we both matter, don′t we? (Yeah-yeah, yo)
You
It’s you and me
It′s you and me, won’t be unhappy
And if I only could
I’d make a deal with God
And I′d get him to slide through places
Be running up (and down!) that way
Be running up (and down!) that hall
Be running up (and down!) that building
It′s you and me, won′t be unhappy (yeah-yeah, yo)
Oh, come on, baby (yeah)
Oh, come on, darling (yo)
Let me steal this moment from you now
Oh, come on, angel
Come on, come on, darling
Let’s exchange the experience, oh
And if I only could
I’d make a deal with God
And I′d get him to slide through places
Be running up (and down!) that way
Be running up (and down!) that hall
Be running up (and down!) that building
With no problems

Lupin’s clean suit makes him look like he’s naked (again)
I don’t know why, but I find the idea of a naked Lupin to be the funniest thing ever.

Halls are racetracks.
Our last house had a hall with a red carpet. They liked that as well as the stairs. They didn’t care about the chair lift on the back stairs.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Royal Dining Room
Thomios: Welcome back, Trish and Duffy. I’ve prepared a special treat. Apple scones with Xanadu honey.
Duffy O’Doyle: A bit of tea and a scone would not come amiss after a long trip from Eireann.
Trish O’Doyle: Indeed, this is a greater treasure than the gold we collect for our Pots.
Iggy Shipwright: I’ve sailed to Eireann when I was a sailor. Beautiful country.
Beatrixia: If you don’t mind my asking, what do you do with the gold you collect?
Trish: Oh, this and that. It’s really more fun to travel and look for gold than to actually collect it.
Bea: I can understand that. It’s like searching through the scrolls.
Trish: Aye, now there’s a treasure indeed.
