And that’s much of the problem with U.S. society.

Well, you nailed it today Scott. Seriously. It is a basic, elemental truth that literally every individual thinks they have all the truth. Just part of being human, I guess.

Ain’t it the truth ?

Everybody thinks they’re right – that part of what an opinion is. If you didn’t think you were right, you’d think something else. The problem is the people who don’t THINK they’re right, they KNOW. And they believe that those who differ aren’t merely wrong, but have something wrong WITH them.

Truth is open source. Seek the light. Turn not to the dark side. Fear is the mind killer. This isn’t rocket science.

Back in the day, I’d be called to the OR or the ICU to evaluate a patient with, for example, severe tachycardia. Now there might be dozens of reasons that might explain their condition, but their lives could depend on my ability to determine which one was the case (i.e., true), and to do so as quickly as possible. Sometimes it was clear, sometimes it wasn’t, but being prematurely convinced you were right was a dangerous attitude. Absolute certainty is the enemy of truth.

I am always correct, but I’ve become more correct as time goes by.

People who think they have all the answers are irritating AF to those of us who do.
