    Technical progress is not necessarily social progress. Humans have a hard time keeping up with technological progress. On a social level we haven’t progressed much beyond a caveman level.

    Actually, I think it did. For all the partisan shouting there is a great deal of fellow feeling, humor, and humanity on the WWW. It depends on what you wish to look for. Personally, I like all the scholarship, like the fellow doing Fall of Civilizations on Youtube and the various mechanics and builders showcasing their talents. An ‘Our Villa in Italy’ for everyone.

    Social Media has provided the world with more Conspiracy Theories, misinformation, misdirection, and Information that is with out merit, scientific proof. Social Media has also provided some people new way to commit new crimes, with the legal system lagging behind. Yes I can say that Social Media has promoted better understanding and acceptance of Humanity as it really is.
