Reviewing pretty much every Big Nate strip from here on out (tho I’m not against doing ones from the past), and it’s hard not to review this one in hindsight, knowing where it led (good and bad).

Never been a fan of Peirce’s cliffhangers in this post modern era shall we call it? (really since 2018). They usually tease something that is disproven or never goes anywhere around the same week. This one is no different, since duh, Gina isn’t actually going through character development and all she wanted was to know how to get Chad to like her.

In the spirit of fairness, I’ll rate it a 5/10, though, since back then this could have gone anywhere!

Also, Dee Dee isn’t a big fan of Gina herself, but I don’t blame Gina for going to her. Probably the closest she could get to a neutral voice.

I’m still sad that we were so close to Gina getting a redemption arc.
