Aunty might have “sold her soul” at some point through an inadvertent demonic invocation (“I’d give my soul to …”), as in this New Twilight Zone episode, “I of Newton.”
(The idea is that souls can be absorbed into a afterlife clearinghouse that, after a reasonable markup, distributes them in bulk to clients in outlying dimensions. They in turn use the souls to animate the bodies of undead factory workers.)
I find it interesting to see a job application posted 5 hours ago and the job is no longer available. That’s a “we got to pretend we are offering the position when we already have the job filled” ad. There’s got to be a shorter name for that.
I’m sure that about 1/3 of the job postings out there are ghost jobs – fishing expeditions by the HR department.
I even have recruiters offering ghost jobs: “I have this great position. Send me your resume.” When I start pressing them for job descriptions, requirements and the nature of the company they represent, they drop off the face of the earth.
There’s a company of Russian recruiters who promise 10 interviews in 10 days with no effort on your part.
At least this time around I’ve not been contacted by anyone who told me that they have access to a database of “secret jobs” that ONLY they know about or people offering career coaching for only $1,500.
You can get career coaching and you can get it for free.
You know what would suck? Not only reading a comic with consistently bad grammar but now I see from the comments that it’s a repeat. Repeat comics are OK, repeat bad grammar, not so much.

I’d probably end up being a cloud polisher.

I’d be a nurse in a place that knows no ill. Sigh.

I’m fairly new to these cartoons as Karlykru recommended them to me about two weeks ago but I seem to remember seeing today’s cartoon before.

Working at the ghost DMV wouldn’t be bad. Nice slow pace. Standing in line at any DMV, ghost or otherwise, is what sucks.
